THE ASSOCIATION OF AFRICAN CONFEDERATIONS FOR OLYMPIC SPORTS

CASOL'S MISSION
CASOL's mission is to unite, promote, and support African Olympic sports confederations while preserving their autonomy and common interests. More specifically, it aims to eliminate all obstacles that hinder the qualification process of African athletes for the Olympic Games, by engaging constructively with International Federations, ASOIF, and the IOC.
CASOL'S Vision
The vision is of a unified, competitive Africa on the world Olympic stage — one where African athletes can qualify for and thrive at the Olympic Games without being hampered by costly, geographically unfair qualification processes. A central goal is making the African Games (starting from 2027) serve as an official Olympic qualification pathway, just as Asian and European Games do for their respective continents.
CASOL'S Role
Championing the rights, interests, and autonomy of African Olympic sports confederations, ensuring Africa's voice is central in Olympic Movement decision-making, qualification processes, and international sport governance.
Coordinating Strategic collaboration and Communication across the Summer Olympic International Federations, whilst seeking constructive alignment with the International Federations.
In fulfilling this role, CASOL ensures that its members are equipped to uphold their mandates, defend their interests, and succeed in achieving their objectives.
On 13 October 2024, the 25 of the 32 existing Olympic Sports Confederations and the Prominent IOC members in Africa, the ANOCA Executive Committee and ANOC Vice President, decided to establish the Association of African Olympic Sports Confederation - CASOL.
